Founded in 1976 by Ludwig J. Munk, the firm soon developed into a sought-after address for intellectual property law in Augsburg and the region around. After qualifying as a patent attorney in 2004, Ludwig H. Munk joined his father's firm and is now its head.

We count a larger number of medium-sized companies from our area among our customers. In addition to our strong focus on medium-sized companies, we also work for a number of globally active corporations. Furthermore, with the growth of originally smaller companies, internationally active and often leading companies have emerged, which we advise and represent both nationally and internationally. Studied general mechanical engineering at the Technical University of Munich. Active as a patent attorney since 1975, admitted to practice before the German Patent and Trademark Office (DPMA), the German Federal Patent Court (BPatG), the European Patent Office (EPO) and the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO). Founder of the patent law firm Munk in Augsburg (1976), between 2006 and 2022 in partnership with Dipl.-Ing. Ludwig H. Munk, since 2023 of counsel.

His comprehensive experience in all areas of industrial property protection, in all types of property rights, in the granting procedure as well as in the enforcement of rights or the defense against unjustified claims represents an extraordinary advantage. In addition, he has acquired a technical expertise in a wide variety of fields of mechanical engineering during his many years of practice, which few can match.

Studied general mechanical engineering at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology. Practicing as a patent attorney since 2004, admitted to practice before the German Patent and Trademark Office (DPMA), the German Federal Patent Court (BPatG), the European Patent Office (EPO) and the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO). Holds the European Patent Litigator Exam, which entitles the holder to representation before the Unified Patent Court of the EU (UPC). Between 2006 and 2022 in partnership with Dipl.-Ing. Ludwig J. Munk, since 2023 owner of the patent law firm Munk in Augsburg.
